MY QUESTION TO SHAUN MORGAN:
Most rock bands have one album that defines them, in your opinion is Holding Onto Strings Better Left To Fray the epitome of what defines you, or are you still finding definition in what you do?
SHAUN MORGAN’S ANSWER:
I feel that "Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray" is by far our best work as musicians, as well as songwriting is concerned. I don't know if this album is the one that defines us, because we haven't finished making albums yet, so I'm hesitant to give this album that distinction already. I think each album has it's own energy and feel, so they each represent different parts of our career. I will say though, that this was by far the best working experience for us. Brendan O'Brien is a genius, as far as I'm concerned, and he taught me a titanic amount about songwriting and musical expression. I would like to think this is the first step towards an album that will eventually "define" us.

MY QUESTION TO SHAUN MORGAN:
After listening to the album extensively, I have noticed the recurring phrase "Please Stay a While". Do you write those emotional lyrics purely out of personal experience or do you write on a more universal level for the listeners to relate to?
SHAUN MORGAN’S ANSWER:
The answer is both. I write from personal experience, but do it in such a way that it can be interpreted any way the listener chooses. I don't want the lyrics be taken from my point of view. I'd rather let somebody hear the music and the lyrics and reach their own conclusions - ultimately the idea is that I would prefer for someone listening to make their own emotional connections to the music, and therefore make it a little bit more personal for them.

MY QUESTION TO SHAUN MORGAN:
It’s been a while since SEETHER has toured our shores, are there any plans for an upcoming tour of South Africa in the near future in support of Holding Onto Strings Better Left To Fray? And is there a chance you will choose a local band for support?
SHAUN MORGAN’S ANSWER:
We know we haven't been home in a while, and for that we are sorry. We have indeed made plans to appear in South Africa before the end of this year, however a proper tour will happen next year. We always enjoy taking local bands with us on tour, so that will definitely be happening again. Right now we don't know who those bands will be, but we are on the lookout already.

MY QUESTION TO SHAUN MORGAN:
"Hey keep your sickness off me...Cannot shake the taste of blood in my mouth." What type of sickness are you referring to in “Country Song” and what exactly does "she" want from "you"?
SHAUN MORGAN’S ANSWER:
That's your puzzle to figure out. "She" may not even be a person - sometimes I allocate gender to certain aspects of my life as it makes it easier for me to identify with them. This could be a drug, an addiction, an emotion etc. I find that humanizing the things that I write about makes them far easier to digest, tackle and eventually overcome.

MY QUESTION TO SHAUN MORGAN:
What artist (alive or dead) would you play Holding Onto Strings Better Left To Fray to and why?
SHAUN MORGAN’S ANSWER:
I actually wouldn't play it to anyone I respected, because I find being in a room with people listening to my music a very vulnerable place to be. I feel naked and exposed, so I tend to be the one that leaves the room. There are people I hope will hear it one day - Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell for example. It would be fun to play an album like this to the likes of Bach and Mozart and see what they make of the horrendous noise though. I've always wondered what the old classical masters would have thought about how we interpret and perform music these days.
